God Is For You – Friday Devotionals

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31

It absolutely amazes me how as Children of God, we can act like prisoners of God.

We declare that we are saved, loved by God, but live with the sub conscious thought that we are always disappointing to God, and need to always be rebuking ourselves for our lack of righteousness. This usually appears in emotions like guilt, shame, and even anxiety.

I have been working very had over the past few months trying to get My Shame Project out, and really focus on sharing my message with more people. The Build it and they will come motto may work for McDonald’s and Starbucks, but not for little bloggers like me. It is something I have to really be intentional about and work hard at.

I really struggle with guilt when I get very project orientated, and when my focus is more on my writing career then on God. I feel like a disappointment, and it holds me back. I get stalled.

I found myself apologizing to God over and over again about how much focus I was giving to my book and blog, until He cut into my thoughts.

“SARAH! I am for you, not against you” I felt God say

My mind quickly envisioned God leaning over my laptop, cheering me on.  Saying go for it!

I sat down on my bed, crossed my legs and said “Okay God, I’m done judging myself, I’m going for it,100%, You are faithful to let me know when I am straying too far, you are faithful to adjust my heart and motives. I know that you are for me, not against me! Let’s do this!”

This moment, even though recent, was a defining moment for me. Not only because it freed me from guilt, but all along that guilt had actually been holding me back from God. My relationship with Him opened up when I let it go.

A bad coach yells “faster, faster, you’re lagging, pick up the pace you idiot!”

A good coach says “you’ve got this, keep going, you’re doing great!”

God is a good coach.

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus Romans 8 :1

We have got to stop condemning ourselves, because when we do we set a limit to God’s love and support. The truth is, there is no limit.

We have got to learn to stop condemning ourselves, because when we do that we set a limit to God's love and support. The truth is, there is no limit.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.  For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,  and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, Romans 8:14-17

We have got to change our sub-conscience view of God from a harsh judging God to a loving Father, who has legally adopted us, which means there is no “un adopting”. It’s a binding contract.

I’m not sure if you deal with guilt like I do when it comes to pursing your dreams, but I felt a loud shout from God to all of us today that HE IS FOR US! HE IS NOT AGAINST US!!

Can you take that and go for it?

DREAM BIG!!!

GOD IS FOR YOU!

Hey before you go, take a moment to listen to one of my favourite songs and before you do that, can you leave me a comment today, when you comment it – makes me feel great but most of all, it helps draw others to a community. We’re in this together!
